Little Man Henceforth…

Last week while preparing myself mentally for leaving Little Man, I started looking at him.  His hair is just starting to grow in.  It is light and he looks bald most of the time.  You can feel the fine hairs on his little noggin, and they are fun to ruffle or brush your cheek on.  I wonder what he will look like when he has a full head of visible hair, how will that change his looks and will we all see him differently?

His quick little smile reveals a fun personality already.  You can see a wry smile coming on and soon you hear a giggle or an explosion of a wordless song.

So, with thoughts like this I thought of this post.  At first I was going to call it Little Man Legacy, but he doesn’t have a legacy… yet, thus, the title of this post.

“You have brains in your head. You have feet in your shoes. You can steer yourself any direction you choose. You’re on your own. And you know what you know. And YOU are the one who’ll decide where to go…”
―    Dr. Seuss,    Oh, the Places You’ll Go!

The hair that will come in and one day be the thing that will attract someone's notice.

The back of his head that will be the view of many people in life, from school and church to business (whatever field he may choose).  This sweet little head holds his brains and his thoughts, thoughts that may change not only his life, but can impact so many during his lifetime.  Who knows what his future holds and what amazing things he will create or think or do.

Choosing his books that are the foundation of his love of reading, knowledge and researching.  Books that will become a lifelong friend to him.  Who knows what part books will play in his future?  He may write, he may read, he may design, but I have a feeling his love of books will only grow with him through the years.

“Onward up many a frightening creek, though your arms may get sore and your sneakers may leak. Oh! The places you’ll go!”
―    Dr. Seuss,    Oh, the Places You’ll Go!

His feet will carry him and hold him up.  They will run the path that is waiting just for him.  These feet will be his foundation to follow in the steps that his Momma and Poppa have started to place underneath him.   I can only imagine and dream of the places that he will go, the adventures he will have and the feats these feet will carry out (sorry, Dr. Seuss is getting to me!)

Go Navy!
Go Navy!

Who knows?  He may follow in his grandfathers footsteps and be a part of the blue and gold.

Whatever this Little Man chooses, whatever his path in his life, this I know, I will be his biggest cheerleader, rooting for him to succeed and to fail, just a bit.   I know the beginning of Little Man is just the beginning of what a great Man he will become.  That greatness will be marked with his victories and his failures.  They will make him what and who he was created to be.  There will be discouragements and joys to mark his life.  I am blessed in knowing him from the beginning, and knowing his folks since they were young, he has a great heritage and I know he will honor what has been laid before him.

“Just never forget to be dexterous and deft.
And never mix up your right foot with your left.
And will you succeed?
Yes! You will, indeed!
(98 and 3/4 percent guaranteed.)”

  1. yes, Curtain, the whole world awaits and he isn’t even aware of it yet… he is content with his board books and toys and I wouldn’t have it any other way. Thanks for stopping by today, it is good to see you!

  2. thank you… that’s a great idea Life…. I am glad you enjoyed the photos… I have wanted to share some photos of him, but didn’t want him to be totally revealed. Getting pictures of him is like nailing jello to a wall, very hard to do! thanks for stopping by, I appreciate your visits.
