Last week I felt sort of like Secretariat must have felt when he won the Triple Crown. I was given, not one, but three awards! I was overwhelmed, stunned, and humbled!! So, what did I do since then? NOTHING! Couldn’t write a thing.
So, this evening, having just closed myself into a room with no interruptions, I will proceed. First of all, I want to thank Raising the Curtain for her generosity and encouragement. She has a wonderful blog that speaks to me each time I read it. I so appreciate her and her posts, all which make me want to go explore her lovely country.
Now, according to the post dear Curtain wrote when she awarded these to me, I will need to answer a few questions. This is good, since my mind has been a vaccuum when it comes to writing this week. Nothing but mush for brains, not good given that it has also been very rainy here and I expect to see an ark floating by any time now.
So, now, I will begin to answer the questions:
What is a real fear you have? That my life will mean nothing. I just have a picture of going through the pearly gates and being asked, “Is that all you did?”
How would you describe yourself? oh, that’s a toughy… I am easy going for the most part. I try to be understanding and encouraging. I hold myself to ridiculous standards of accomplishments (it’s that list making part of me…) but for the most part, I am just real. I am human, nuff said.
What Countries have you lived in? Two. This great country of the United States and the beautiful country of Japan. Japan etched itself into my heart and I left a part of me there, but also in living there I grew to love my country even more.
What is your style? Very easy going, relaxed, casual.
What is your favorite breakfast food? I love breakfast. I could eat it any time of the day or night. But, if given my choice, I would take either a cup of coffee or tea and a piece of toast. That is perfect!
What are some of your hobbies? Walking, painting, cleaning (I know, I really do like to do it though) and crafts.
If you could tell people anything, what would be the most important thing to say? Trust in the Lord.
What is one of your passions? Spending time with my kids. They invigorate me.
What is the one truth you have learned? That the Lord is in control. As long as I can look out my window and see the trees rooted in the ground and nothing flying off into space I don’t have to worry because He is in control. Plus, for anything really upsetting me at the moment, in 6 weeks it will be a distant memory for the most part.
Now these awards I received were:
Aren’t they pretty? I am so thrilled! Thank you again, Raising the Curtain! You are the best.
Now, to award these awards to others. This is a new thing to me and I hope I do it right.
Coming East, this blog is wonderful! Filled with thoughts that brighten each morning as I read her posts.
